Project Review and Evaluation:
Conduct comprehensive reviews of engineering projects to assess their feasibility, technical viability, and compliance with regulations and industry standards. This includes analyzing rock mass properties, mine designs, and schedules to identify potential risks, shortcomings, or areas for improvement.
Due Diligence and Risk Assessment:
Perform due diligence assessments to evaluate the technical aspects of projects, acquisitions, or investments. This involves identifying and analyzing potential risks, evaluating compliance with best/current practices and standards, and providing recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance project/operational success.
I conduct a thorough review of technical documentation, visit the project/operation site to examine rock core and surface and underground exposures, interview geologists, engineers and other stakeholders, perform risk assessments, and ensure that all necessary checks are carried out. The goal is to identify any potential liabilities, risks, or non-compliance issues and provide a detailed report to the client.
Peer Review and Quality Assurance:
Independent peer reviews to evaluate the work of other engineering professionals. This involves evaluating technical documents, designs, plans, or proposals prepared by others. I act as an independent reviewer to assess the quality, accuracy, compliance, and suitability of the provided materials. I also analyze the technical aspects, identify potential issues or shortcomings, and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
Expert Witness Services:
Provide expert testimony and technical support in legal proceedings related to engineering disputes, construction claims, or accidents. My experience and expertise helps me understand complex technical issues and present them effectively in legal settings.
